Why Check for Updates in Teams?
- Microsoft is consistently releasing new updates to Teams, and those updates may not always be announced
- Periodically checking for updates will ensure you have the most up to date Teams experience
- This will only apply to the installed version of Teams, not the web application
How to Check for Updates
Access your updates in Teams
- Open the installed version of Microsoft Teams
- Click on your profile, then select "Check for Updates"

- You will see a status in the center of your Teams screen that states "We will check and install any updates while you continue to work."

- Once this message has disappeared, you will now need to close Teams completely and re-open it to see changes or updates
Properly Closing Teams to Complete Updates
- Rather than closing Teams by selecting the "X" in the upper right corner, you will need to "Quit" Teams completely
- To close Teams completely, right click on the Teams icon in your menu bar, and select "Quit"
