Forms for PowerPoint

Forms

Microsoft Forms is available as a built-in app within PowerPoint, allowing users to add their Forms directly into PowerPoint presentations. This KB provides useful tips and information about this feature.

To create a Form you can access Forms via go.westernu.edu under All Apps or accessed using the direct link Microsoft Forms

  • This app feature is available to all users
  • You must be signed into PowerPoint to access this app, meaning this will not work on shared or common computers that utilize device licensing for Office 365
    • For this case its best to use the online version of PowerPoint from go.westernu.edu
  • Note that during a presentation Forms may only be active for ~3 minutes, see more information below
  • Additional Add-ins are managed by WesternU IT

PowerPoint

Microsoft Forms is available from Home > Add-ins

From here, click on Forms

You will then copy the url to your Forms which will insert the Form into your slide

Additional Information

PowerPoint has a legacy Forms button that is not recommended for use, this utilizes an outdated version of Forms and will not work for users. Unfortunately there is not a way for IT to remove this.

Do not use this option Insert > Forms

Forms has an internal timeout time of ~3 minutes, this timeout would begin once the slide is selected during presentation.

The slide can be reloaded by accessing the Action menu after clicking on the Form
