Data Information Outlet Relocation or Addition

• This service request is to have the IT infrastructure group either move an existing data port or install a new data port to a location within an office, classroom or work area for network connectivity.

• If you would like to request relocation of an existing Information Outlet (data port) within an office due to a furniture change or the move of a networkable device within an office, classroom or work area.  The Infrastructure team will assess and perform a relocation if possible.
• If you have the need to install additional Information Outlet(s) due to the addition of a new networkable device within an office, classroom or work area.  The Infrastructure team will assess and perform the addition(s) if possible.

• If the request is for outlet relocation(s), there will be no charge to the requesting department.
• If the request is for outlet addition(s) (up to 8 ports), IT will charge material fees of $85 per port to cover material expenses.
• If the request is for more than 8 ports in a given area, then IT will consult a cabling contractor to estimate the work and IT will relay the quotation information to the requesting department. (Please be informed that contract work includes labor costs)

Important Additional Information

• If you are adding a new networkable device, you must determine if there is adequate power near where the new Information outlet will be installed.  If necessary, you must Request Through Facilities to install an additional electrical outlet.
