How to use the A/V system in OCHS Classrooms

1. Default Room Startup
1a. Click on the Tablet or the Wall and press the Begin button.

1b. Default is Left PC screen and Right PC screens at the same time

2. Displays
2a. Is you are using the current system. Note that the monitor on the wall is mapped to the left view on the screen.

2b. If you want to hide the left screen and only show the right screen, then on the tablet or wall press the Right on both sides.

2c. This is useful is you want your Presentation Notes on the wall monitor and the Main Presentation on the other screens.

3. Audio and Audio Control
3a. You will also find on top of the cabinets 4 microphones, 2- are handheld and 2- are lapel.
Please make sure when you place them back in the charging station that the lights go on for the slot you are placing it back. After using it, the light will be blinking green as it is charging.When they are fully charged all 5 green LEDs will be lid for that slot.
3b. Note: once you remove a microphone from the charging station the microphone will be live. To temporarily mute it, click on the button label Push, so that the light on the microphone turns from Green to Red and click it again if you are ready to use it.

3c. Audio control, on either the wall or tablet click on the Volume icon, you will get the screen below. You can Mute or Adjust levels for the Microphones, the Speakers, and the Ceiling Microphones.

3d. If you click on the Mic Levels. You will be able to adjust individual microphones or mute them. (default settings for all microphones)

4. Cameras
4a. To select and or control a camera, click on the Camera icon on the left side. Then select the camera you want and if you need to control it, you can use the Pan/Tilt or Zoom buttons to adjust for your needs.

4b. Preset buttons 1 – 3, you can adjust the camera to the view you want. If this is a view you normally use, you can hold one of the preset buttons for about 6 seconds and it will be set for that preset button.
NOTE: Another person can come in after you and do the same, just be aware.

5. Shutting Down the Classroom
5a. Once you are done with the class, please make sure to place the microphone(s) properly back on the charging station. If you use the presentation pointer, make sure it is connected back to the short charging cable so that it stays charged. Log out of your session, and then press the Power Off button.

5b. Then click Yes, Shutdown, and if you used the wall monitor, please power it OFF.

6. Rooms 1218 and 1220 (Classroom 3)
6a. Combined Mode: When in combined mode, 1220 is the default computer.
If rooms 1218 and 1220 are combined, you will need to use the Keyboard and mouse label “1220 USE IN COMBINED”

6b. Inside the cabinet in room 1218, there is a small switch that controls the wall monitor, press the button on the switch to toggle which computer screen will be displayed 1218 or 1220. The LED will be lid on for the room selected.

6c. The Presentation Pointer dongle label 1218 will need to be placed on one of the USB #5 or #6 slots in 1220 side located next to the microphones in order to use the Presentation Pointer.

6d. If you have a Thumb Drive, it too will need to be placed in room 1220 side in order for you to access it, on the free USB port.

6e.Split Mode: When in Split mode, 1218 and 1220 will use their own keyboard and mouse. The Presentation Pointer dongle needs to go in either USB #7 or #8 slots in room 1218 located next to the microphones. You will also need to use the Keyboard and mouse label 1218.
6f. In split mode, using 1218, make sure to toggle the wall monitor switch back to 1218
6g. If you use 1220, then you will need to use the keyboard and mouse label 1220 USE IN COMBINED

7. Laptop Connection
7a. After beginning the system, click the on the source option Laptop for Left side, and if you want the same image to show on the Right Side, click the Right Side option as well. Or you can select to Hide Image, that will keep the Right side blank.

7b. Connect the HDMI cable to the computer, HDMI port.

7c. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the wall port label HDMI IN

8. AirMedia (when you need to connect and do not have an HDMI connection on your computer or tablet)
8a. On the tablet or wall panel select AirMedia. (You need to be connected to our WiFi)

8b. the screen will look like this. You will want to focus on the bottom left hand corner of the screen.


8c. Bring up a web browser and type the Visit information on the address line and press Enter.

8d. You will get routed to the Crestron connection, click on Start Presenting

8e. If this is the first time you load AirMedia you will be prompted to download the application. If you see your Operating System, click on it. If you already have the application, skip down to 8h.

8f. Once the file is downloaded, you will be able to click Open File

8g. You will need to click Agree to continue or click the Privacy Statement to see what you are agreeing to.

8h. Enter the code you see on the bottom left hand of the screen (refer to 8b) and click connect. Note: Code changes everytime

8i. You will see this screen and you should also see it on the Screen/Monitors, you may want to minimize it.

8j. Now you can share your presentation or anything else you need to share.

8k. Once you are done please Exit the application.

8l. Make sure to also shut down the room, on the tablet or wall panel, click on the Power Off option and then select Yes, Shutdown. Return microphones back to the charging station.

9. Presentation Pointer
9a. Note the dongle might not be visible in all rooms. Room 1220 does not have one.

9b. If both ports are in use as you see in the picture and you need to connect a thumb drive, disconnect the pointer with that little pig tail connection so that the USB port is available. Once you are done using it, please connect it back so that pointer stays charged.
