- How is WesternU TechSupport going to upgrade WesternU Windows computers from Windows 10 to Windows 11?
TechSupport will coordinate the upgrade of WesternU Windows 10 computers with scheduled upgrade dates, providing ample notice to users in advance.
For laptops specifically, we recommend the upgrade to Windows 11 be completed with device on campus* and connected to a docking station (power), as the process can take several hours to complete.
Alternatively, users also have the flexibility to initiate the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 at their convenience, either on or off campus, by following the instructions outlined below.

Upgrade Through Software Center
- The first method of updating Windows 10 to Windows 11 is through the Updates tab
- The second method of updating Windows 10 to Windows 11 is through the Operating Systems tab
- If neither of those options complete the upgrade of Windows 10 to Windows 11, please review the Updates Through Windows Updates section below.

- Microsoft will end support of Windows 10 on October 14, 2025.
