How do I set up and use Dictation on a Windows computer?
The dictation feature allows you to speak to your Windows device to make it perform certain actions.
Turning on Dictation Commands
In the search bar of your Windows device, type in Dictation
Click on "Ease of Access dictation" to open the settings
Turn on the Speech Recognition
Set up Speech Recognition
Choose what type of Microphone you are using
Set up your microphone
Adjust the volume of your microphone
Click the Next button once your microphone is confirmed to be set up.
Choose if you would like to enable or disable document review to help improve speech recognition accuracy.
Choose an activation mode.
Click Next to have your device "Run Speech Recognition at startup"
If you choose manual activation mode:
Press the Windows logo key + H to start dictation.
Click on the Microphone button
