Tags ipad COMP CPM

Question

  • I have my own iPad but wish to use COMPs configuration to receive apps, how can I accomplish this?

DO NOT enroll Macs or iPhones. This is for iPads only, you can technically access the link on Mac but it will provide zero benefit. This program is for iPads only. Please follow your college instructions

Step-by-step

  1. Check your email, you will receive an enrollment invitation from Technical Support, click the link to continue.

  1. You will be asked to sign in with your WesternU User Name (everything before the @ in your WesternU e-mail) and Password used to access your WesternU e-mail.

  1. Once signed in you will need to select COMP as the site

  1. Click "continue"

  1. Click "allow"

  1. Go to the "settings" app and click "profile"

  1. Click on "CA Certificate"

  1. Click "Install"

  1. Go back to the web browser to continue the installation, you will be asked to download another MDM profile.
  2. Repeat from step 3, this time instead of "CA Certificate" the profile will be called "MDM Profile"

  1. Once completed, your iPad will be enrolled and several applications should be installed (this may take up to an hour depending on your internet connection)

Troubleshooting Steps:

If you're iPad is giving an error or the profile/MDM is not installing properly, please follow the 2 troubleshooting steps below. If these troubleshooting steps do not resovle the problem, please call TechSupport at 909-469-5432

  1. Reset Network Settings (This will remove ALL Network connections on device, Wi-Fi Bluetooth etc) :
    1. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. (The iPad will restart and you will be prompted to join Wi-Fi and then please attempt enrollment again.) If Network Settings does NOT resolve issue, please move to Step 2 below.

  2. Erase All Content and Settings(This will COMPLETELY ERASE the iPad! Please backup any important info you need BEFORE doing this step!)
    1. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. (The iPad will restart and you will need to re-set up the iPad and then please attempt enrollment again.)\
    2. If you perform this step and used an iCloud Backup when re-setting up and the issue is unresolved, you will need to erase the device and NOT use the iCloud Backup, as it could be housing the issue in the operating system that is in the backup.
