How can I ensure best network connectivity for home learning?

My laptop is not connected to the internet.

  1. Navigate to your Network Settings on your device (This is operating system specific).
  2. Ensure your device is connected to your home/work/public network.

My device is connected to the internet, but it is seems really slow. What could be affecting it?

  1. Multiple devices that could be utilizing more of the bandwidth. 
    1. For example, if someone in your household likes to play video games, chances are their devices could be using more of the bandwidth causing your device to perform slower.
  2. Environmental variables could be affecting the strength of the connection.
    1. Materials that can block or can weaken the signal are listed below:
      1. Metal
      2. Brick
      3. Aluminum Foil
      4. Some insulation materials
  3. Your router may not be strong enough or doesn't reach the physical location of where you are in your home. 
    1. You may want to move the router (if applicable).
    2. You can invest in a Wi-Fi Extender (ie: Google Nest Wifi, Netgear Range Extender ext)

  My laptop is not connected to my network, but can't connect. 

  1. Navigate to your Network Settings on your device.
  2. Find your home network and choose the option to "Forget Network", then re-add the home network again. 

         Try rebooting your device.

         If possible use a physical cable to connect your device.

  1. Plug a network cable into your router.
  2. Plug your network cable into your device.

      Contact your Internet Service Provider
