Touch Panel
To use the AV in the room, you will need to turn on the AV system via the touch panel installed into the lectern tabletop. Tap on the screen to awaken the touch panel and the WesternU logo will appear with the location name, AMP 2 and today’s date, shown. Tap on the screen once again to bring the source selection screen. Tap on the PC source to power on the AV system and the projector will turn on. There is no projection screen in front of the classroom like the standard classroom AV configuration. The PC source will be displayed on the white wall once the projector has completed its warm-up phase.
The available options on the touch panel controls are the following:
- PC: Lectern PC
- Laptop: Laptops can connect to HDMI cable installed into lectern from the cubby
- Image Mute: Feature to mute selected source
- Image Unmute: Feature to unmute selected source
- Document Camera: Document camera is stored in the drawer on the right side of the lectern
PC
When selected, the screen will transition to an image of an animated VGA cable being plugged into a slot. The PC source will be displayed on the wall. To go back to the previous screen with the five options, you will need to tap on the House icon button on the top right of the touch panel screen.
Laptop
When selected, the screen will transition to an image of an animated VGA cable being plugged into a slot. Plug in the HDMI cable to the laptop and configure the laptop to display properly through the projector. To go back to the previous screen with the five options, you will need to tap on the House icon button on the top right of the touch panel screen.
Document Camera
When selected, the screen will transition to Document Camera controls. The projector will display what the Doc-Cam is receiving. The controls will allow the user to adjust the focus and the zoom, including the lighting. The user can, and usually will, control the Doc-Cam directly from the equipment itself since they are usually maneuvering the item or the documents right in front of the Doc-Cam. It is recommended the user configures the Doc-Cam from the unit itself. To go back to the previous screen with the five options, you will need to tap on the House icon button on the top right of the touch panel screen.
Video Conferencing
Zoom
Zoom is possible in the classroom, except there is no video camera built into the room for native use. Therefore, the user will need to bring in a webcam or a video camera of their own or they will need to coordinate with IT prior to the event in order to have a camera setup for their event.
