Dell Docking Station Connection Guide

This is a quick reference, and guide for setting up a Dell Docking Station

For any and all images on this page you can "Left Click" them to enlarge them.

The following two images will be showing you what ports are on the docking station as well as what they look like.

We will start with the back of the docking station.

From left to right we have

1. 2 USB-C Ports
2. Power Port
3. Ethernet/Network Port
4. 2 USB Ports
5. USB-C port for displays
6. HDMI Port
7. 2 Display Ports

The next image will be showing the front of the docking station.

From left to right you have

1. USB-C Port
2. USB Port

Next we will be giving quick directions on what needs connected in order for you to setup the docking station.

1. All that you need to do, is connect the docking station to wall power.
    
2. Use either Display Port cables, or HDMI cables to connect your monitors to your docking station. To identify the correct cables, compare the ends of the cables to the picture above, and match it to the shapes of the ports shown.
    
3. Next you will want to connect any other peripherals you might have, these could be mice, keyboards, webcams, or any other USB devices you need connected. Most of these will be using the USB Ports found on the docking station.
    
4. If you have easy access to your router, you can then run an ethernet/network cable from it to your docking station, this cable will connect to the network/ethernet port found on the back of the docking station.
    
5. From here, you are ready to use the pre-attached USB-C cable to connect your laptop to your docking station.

The following picture is a quick example of what it might look like with minimal connections. Your setup might look different if you have more connected to your docking station.
