HSC Lecture Hall East - A/V Training

Touch Panel

To use the AV in the room, you will need to turn on the AV system via the touch panel installed into the lectern tabletop.  Tap on the screen to awaken the touch panel and the WesternU logo will appear with the location name, Lecture Hall East, and today‚Äôs date, shown.  Tap on the screen once again to bring the source selection screen.  Tap on the PC source to power on the AV system and the projector will turn on and the Confidence Monitor will turn on.  The Confidence Monitor is mounted on the pillar in the front view of the lectern.  The projection screen will drop down from the front of the classroom.

The available options on the touch panel controls are the following:

  1. PC: Lectern PC
  2. Laptop: Laptops can connect to HDMI cable installed into lectern from the cubby
  3. Air Media: Connect any tablets/laptops wirelessly as a presentation source
  4. Image Mute: Feature to mute selected source
  5. Image Unmute: Feature to unmute selected source
  6. Document Camera: Document camera is stored in the drawer on the left side of the lectern

PC

When selected, the screen will transition to an image of an animated VGA cable being plugged into a slot.  The PC source will be displayed on the wall.  To go back to the previous screen with the five options, you will need to tap on the House icon button on the top right of the touch panel screen.

Laptop

 When selected, the screen will transition to an image of an animated VGA cable being plugged into a slot.  Plug in the HDMI cable to the laptop and configure the laptop to display properly through the projector.  To go back to the previous screen with the five options, you will need to tap on the House icon button on the top right of the touch panel screen.

Air Media

  1. To connect a presentation device wirelessly, select Air Media from the Touch Panel
  2. Press Send Source
  3. Select Christie to send to the projector or Sharp to send to the large confidence display. Select Send to All to send to both.
  4. Open a browser on the tablet/laptop
  5. Type in the http:// address (address is located on the projected source in the lower right hand corner) in the browser window
  6. Type in the code (code is located on the projected source in the lower right hand corner) into the Crestron AirMedia code prompt *Note* If you have not previously installed the Crestron Air Media software/app it will download. Click run or install then open the application.
  7. Click Connect
  8. Click Start Presenting

Document Camera

 When selected, the screen will transition to Document Camera controls.  The projector will display what the Doc-Cam is receiving.  The controls will allow the user to adjust the focus and the zoom, including the lighting.  The user can, and usually will, control the Doc-Cam directly from the equipment itself since they are usually maneuvering the item or the documents right in front of the Doc-Cam.  It is recommended the user configures the Doc-Cam from the unit itself.  To go back to the previous screen with the five options, you will need to tap on the House icon button on the top right of the touch panel screen.

Video Conferencing

Zoom

This classroom is not Zoom compatible; however, certain Zoom elements will work.  We highly recommend users to avoid using Zoom in this classroom.

HaiVision

HaiVision is not available in HSC Lecture Hall East
