Call Forwarding (Legacy System)

Question

  • How do I forward calls from my WesternU telephone?

Step-by-step

Method 1: Using the Feature Access Code " *2 "

Activate

  1. Pick up the handset or press the speaker button to get a dial tone.
  2. On the keypad, dial the feature access code: * 2 and you will hear a slight pause followed by a second dial tone.
  3. Dial either the extension you wish to have your calls forwarded to or the external telephone number. If you are forwarding to an outside phone number, you must dial: 9 + the number.

Deactivate

  1. Pick up the handset or press the speaker button to get a dial tone.
  2. On the keypad, dial the feature access code: # 2 and you will hear a series of short dial tones in succession.

Method 2: Using the call-Fwd Button

Activate

  1. This method requires you have the Call-Fwd button assigned to one of the alpha buttons on your phone. If you do not have a Call-Fwd button assigned, and have a free alpha-button on your phone, you may request to have it assigned to your phone. (See Additional Information below)
  2. Pick up the handset or simply press the button labeled "Call-Fwd" and you will hear a dial tone on your speaker.
  3. Dial either the extension you wish to have your calls forwarded to or the external telephone number. If you are forwarding to an outside phone number, you must dial 9 + the number.
  4. You will notice that a green light will light next to the "Call-Fwd" button when forwarding is active.

Deactivate

  1. Press the "Call-Fwd" button again. If the green light goes out, forwarding is not active.

Additional Information

  • If you still need assistance with call forwarding or wish to request a "Call-Fwd" button, please submit a General Telecom Issue Request.
