Adding a Network Printer to Windows

Question

  • How do I add a network printer?
  • What is a network printer?
    • A network printer does not have any physical connections to your computer, and can be found from your WesternU device while your device is connected to the WesternU network.

**NOTE**  If you are having issues with printing, please remove the printer first, then add it back.

To remove a printer please go to Settings>Devices>Printers & Scanners>Select YOUPRINTER>Select Remove device

How to add a printer to your device

1. Locate the name of the network printer you are trying to add. This should be located on the printer itself.

 2. In Windows, click the Start menu button and type \\print for Pomona or \\leb-print for Lebanon then hit enter.

3.Locate the name of the printer from the list, you can use the search bar in the top-right to narrow the options, and double click on the printer you are trying to add.

4. It may prompt you to install the driver, if so, please click Install driver

5. Once complete, you will be able to locate the printer in Settings > Devices or from the list of printers in the application you are printing from.
