Examsoft Assignment Uploads - Troubleshooting Tips

Tags CDM

If you are receiving  errors when attempting to upload an assignment in your Examsoft Portal please review the following troubleshooting tips we compiled (tips at the top of the list are the most common):

The File Size May Be Too Large

Examsoft has a upload file size limit of 10 mb. We don't quite understand why they do not inform the user that the file size is past the limit but this may be the case. To remedy this, please convert your file into a PDF. If the file size is still too large, please compress the file using either adobe acrobat (file>save as other>reduced size PDF) or free online websites like https://smallpdf.com/compress-pdf.

If reducing the file size does not work, you can also submit your assignment/project in multiple parts to bypass the file size limit (e.g., "Class III Composite Portfolio Part 1", "Class III Composite Portfolio Part 2", etc.).

Use of Non-compatible Characters in File Name

Examsoft has a history of not accepting uploads that contain special characters like: , * & $ % - # ' etc.  Our recommendation is to remove any characters in your file name that are not letters.  For example, "John Smith Project 1A"

Browser Issues

Though Examsoft recommends the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, we've seen the least amount of technical issues when students use Mozilla Firefox. Most issues seem to be resolved when this browser is utilized.

File Type Not Supported

Supported file types include: .doc, .docx, .xlsx, .rtf, .pdf, .pptx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .avi, .mov, .mp4, .mp3.
