Enviromux Water Detected Alert

This alert means that the water rope in a network IDF or equipment room has detected moisture. The alert identifies the Enviromux sensor and the affected location.

Procedure

  1. Review the alert and identify the affected IDF and the time of the alert.
  2. Notify Facilities immediately and provide them with the affected IDF.
  3. Ask Facilities to inspect the room for an active leak, standing water, or another source of moisture.
  4. Notify Network Operations immediately if water is near network or electrical equipment, or if equipment may be at risk.

Do not dismiss or clear the alert without a physical inspection of the room. Water may be present even when network equipment is still operating normally.

Do not touch equipment or enter an unsafe area when water may be in contact with electrical equipment. Follow normal Facilities and electrical-safety procedures.
